Erica Corriea, Partner & Chief Operating Officer

Erica learned early that details matter. She began ballet at two years old and went on to dance professionally with the Sarasota Ballet — an experience that shaped the discipline, focus and persistence she still brings to her work today. 

After ballet, Erica earned her degree in Mathematics and spent 12 years working inside an employer organization, managing everything from payroll and HR to accounting and employee benefits. That experience gave her a firsthand understanding of what employers are actually juggling — payroll deadlines, employee needs, benefits questions — and how much it matters to have someone who won’t let things slip. 

As a Partner & Chief Operating Officer at The Afekt Co., Erica helps shape how we take care of our clients while staying closely involved in the day-to-day work. She has a particular talent for taking something complicated, finding the issue and staying with it until there’s an answer. It’s part of a simple philosophy around here: the details may be complicated, but they shouldn’t become the client’s problem. 

Outside of work, Erica still likes a challenge. She and her husband are hikers, boaters, obstacle-course racers and land-based shark fishermen — adventures they’re now beginning to share with their young son.
